Babe Huggett Boots-on-the-ground reporting from Houston, TX -During a True the Vote poll watcher orientation class held on Monday, November 1, at the headquarters of the King Street Patriots, Harris County Senior Assistant County attorney let casually slip that many of the complaints of voter intimidation lodged during the early voting in Houston were against election workers and officials and NOT against the True the Vote trained poll watchers!Ray admitted to stunned King street Patriots that it’s the poll workers and poll officials that are mostly singled out in the complaints coming from the minority communities that are the culprits. His statement corroborates eyewitness accounts by True the Vote trained poll watchers that clerks and poll workers were the ones interfering with voters in order to get them to vote a straight Democratic ticket at the polls.
When questioned after the speech, Ray repeated that it was mostly the poll workers that were the problem and that when complaints were investigated, it was usually a poll worker and not a True the Vote trained poll watcher that had caused the complaint.
This comes on the heels of a media feeding frenzy where news sources locally and nationally attacked the King Street Patriot organization and their True the vote trained poll watchers as racists, with the Harris County Attorney;s office being a prime source of information for these media outlets. ABC Channel 13 theorized that the King Street Patriot leaders would see jail time for their alleged voter intimidation. Channel 26, the FOX news affiliate asked rudely and aggressively if the King Street Patriots hadn’t created a hostile environment to begin with and went on to push this slant in their news stories. New Black Panther leader, Quanelle X, openly bragged how he was going to bring his men down to “protect” his people from the True the Vote trained poll watchers. Emails from Color of Change, co-founded by the radical leftist, Van Jones, charging poll watcher voter intimidation circulated wildly through liberal circles with calls to get video cameras in the poll watchers’ faces to ensure that there was no intimidation. Local radio station, Magic 102.1 FM had callers whipped up by repeating Democratic talking points bogus assaults on black voters by poll watchers including spitting and physical assault by them on black grandmothers.
Yet it has been the poll watchers themselves, mostly soccer moms, the elderly and retirees, that have been the ones harassed, yelled at, screamed at, intimidated, threatened and assaulted with poll workers being some of the biggest culprits.
The Obama Administration DOJ is already on record saying that it intends to send poll officials to 18 states to look for voter intimidation and numerous calls for DOJ officials to come to Harris County to investigate and chronicle voter intimidation has come from both sides of the political aisle. While the King Street Patriots want the DOJ to be on site at polling places to witness for themselves what the poll watchers are reporting as voter fraud and irregularities, the Democrats are calling for the DOJ to watch the poll watchers in order to neutralize them.
