Global Warming Causes are Still Uncertain and Unproven

Science writer Michael Lemonick in his new book entitled “Global Weirdness” compares climate change to lung cancer. He likens the warning on the back of a pack of cigarettes to the constant browbeating that we are forced to endure by a certain small but vociferous segment of the scientific community, along with their political mouthpieces back in Washington D.C., and in the journalistic community. These pseudo scientists seem hell-bent on trying to brainwash all the rest of us into compliance with some kind of a carbon trading scheme. Selling carbon credits will no doubt make many of them rich! However there is no genuine scientific consensus about whether there is, or there is not an increase in global temperature, and even if there is …whether it is caused by human activity. We don’t actually know yet whether the curious phenomena that we are witnessing, which was first called global warming, but is now vaguely referred to as climate change is the result of human activity or something much bigger.
There is even less consensus on whether the phenomena that scientists think we are experiencing is really anthropogenic in nature, or whether it is the result of something else in nature, something that is much bigger and far more complex than we are, namely the Sun in the sky! You know that big furnace overhead doesn’t actually come with a thermostat on it! But all of the progressives are in such a mad rush to sell us the idea of man-made global warming, and that we mere mortals can actually do something about it! This is no doubt so that they can all cash in on their investments in companies that sell carbon credits. In other words they want to convince us about the incredible benefits of buying and selling carbon credits and using non-fossil fuels just so that they can all get rich!
What any person with even a pea sized brain knows is this: There is a world-wide political effort going on right now to force the developed nations of the world to subsidize the developing nations of the world through transfer of wealth payments that are derived from carbon taxes and carbon trading schemes. This push is far more apparent than any conclusions about whether the earth is actually warming or not, and if it is… then what is really causing it! The Indonesian volcano Krakatoa spewed more carbon into the Earth’s atmosphere in a single momentous event than all of the cars that ever rolled off the assembly lines of Henry Ford and Karl Benz!
Mr. Lemonick states in his new book that it took a long time for the Surgeon General’s warning about the health hazards of smoking cigarettes to be taken seriously, and so it is logical to assume that it will also take a while for the risks related to global warming and its associated warnings to be taken seriously as well! But wait a minute! Not so fast!.. Mr. Lemonick, whose name just happens to rhyme with demonic, is actually making some pretty broad comparisons here which is kind of like mixing apples and oranges…
