Van Jones.  Certainly a “controversial” character in the news for the last two years.   My question for you is what political leanings, come to mind, if any, when you see or hear “Van Jones?an Jones.  Certainly a   “controversial” character in the news for the last two years.   My question for you is what political leanings, come to mind, if any, when you see or hear “Van Jones?”  After all, its best not to judge someone by anything but their own words and actions.  This Sunday last, whilst cruising through my favorite source of all, the Huffington Post, I took a “double take”.  No, wait, that can’t be right.  I moved my cursor back to where it says “American Dream” and “Van Jones”.

I don’t know about you, but the “American Dream”, when I hear the term, I think of the mass legal immigration of the 1860′s to about 1920.  I guess, I get an image in my head of those poor Irish coming because of the potato famine, those coming for religious freedom, or any person, from anywhere at any time in our history who became hopeful.  Yes, hopeful.  They lived in a system of tyranny of many ilks, under many different names, but really all the same.

Whether Stalin, or Hitler, Milosevic, these dreamers dreamed from places which boosted of having a (Marxist) “worker” state, a “level” playing field.   All are the “same”, no rich, no poor, all working for the State, and the State takes the place of God.  I know.  Isn’t having “all the same” and wiping out any big bad uber Rich Corporations (which deal in Oil usually), and all living in harmony, singing songs (acapella, but harmonized), about the State.  Why would God, and Religion be banned in these societies, if it sounds like the epitomy of a “christian” way to live?  No one is poor, right? No one is rich? Right? The concept of Christianity being practiced by the whole State….

I offer that God, in His wisdom, didn’t make all of us with the same talents or intelligence.  He gave all of us life.  Not everyone is born “free”.  To some He gave much, to some He gave little, but He gave All Life.  And He gave us free will.  Now, if you don’t believe in a “Higher Power” that’s OK, but I assume you who don’t still have a system of beliefs which make something “right” and something “wrong”.  And I assert that it most surely “seems” wrong not to be free…part of being free, is the freedom to believe in a God, and the freedom to worship that God without fear.

Yet, in the end, in all “socialistic” societies practicing a Religion is pretty much outlawed….”they” who implement the Socialistic Society know that the belief in God does not “mix” with that form of Government.  Socialism in its “concept” makes us all the “same” and really there is NO WAY to do that with human beings, we weren’t designed that way, and we have a yearning to pursue certain talents or passions.  And there is an angst in our hearts.  To strive to follow a path, that God placed in our hearts, and we have self governance within us.*  We as Americans have been given much, not since the beginning of the civilized world has there been a form of government which first recognized our unalienable Rights given by God. And then ensured those Rights, as all Men are created equal….

The State that gives rights, can also take them away.  Unions were intially formed to protect against abuses of workers, not to make sure they protect “privledges”.  And there is no way to “govern” a nation to ensure All have the same lifestyle, that no man is richer than any other.  Monetary richness is not the only kind of richness.  Intellectual “gifts” cannot be given or taken away, the ability to play an instrument magnificantly, the empathy to relate to another’s plight fully—all are “gifts” bestowed upon certain human beings, just as being born an Heir to a fortune.

To be so simple as to think that if all peoples monetary level and material wealth were “spread around” to make it “fair” would create a Government where all are assured equity, is ridiculous.  All that assures is walls being built to restrict those being subjected to the Great Progressive Experiment (its been tried a few times, its success rate is, well death, murder, mayhem….) the freedom to pursue or develop their “individual-ism”.  A Government is needed to serve the individual by enforcing and inacting laws to protect the unalienable Rights.  Checks and Balances are needed to make sure Government does not extend its reach any further.

Van Jones’ “Tea Party Moment” isn’t about returning to the principles which the Country was founded on….he says as much, stating the Tea Party spouts “negitive liberties” citing “Don’t Tread On Me”.  Jones goes on to say:

The public has just been hypnotized into believing that the richest and most creative nation on Earth has only two choices in this crisis: massive austerity (as championed by the Tea Party/Republicans) or SEMI-massive austerity (as meekly offered by too many DC Democrats).  It is ridiculous.

Jones now reveals his true objective:

Fortunately, the people in Wisconsin know that.  So they are fighting (emphasis mine) courageously.  Their efforts could blossom into a compelling, national force for the good— offering a powerful alternative to those false choices.

He also says many other statements, that if you didn’t know he co-founded “STORM”, you might skim through his “blog” and not fully appreciate who he is trying to “hypnotize”.  I am not so naive as to confuse my love for America, as a blinding love.  Our Country is on the brink, of what, I do not know.  I took many hours scouring through the STORM “manifesto”, looking for a clue to why?  What would foster men and women who have obtained higher education, some the best the world has to offer (right here in the USA), be so far-sighted, and so mistaken as to something so simple, a junior high history lesson.  It may seem “sexy” and “en-vogue” to sport a Che Gueverra T-Shirt to some, but certainly the reality of Social Justice is really a re-naming, a claiming, of mis-guided battle for the hearts and minds of what Marx called “useful idiots”.  Social Justice is a whole other article….

Van the “Man”‘s main play in the last few years is to promote “green” jobs, and spread the lie of Global Inferno (warming), its goal is to regulate, strangulate, eliminate the Corporate structures of many of our wealthiest Companies and Corporations….At 46 years old (I said I tell the truth…) I’m old enough to see the Green Bean Global Disaster agenda, and how it appeals to the same demographics as the “pollution” agenda (remember the Indian crying –that one lone tear— in the commercial circa 1973-74 and cars driving by dumping piles of trash into his forest?) That whole “scene” targets the Hollywood uber Rich (although their carbon footprint would probably take up the state of Alaska; sidebar-Chris Martin of “Coldplay” and his Eco-Concerned Wife Gwenyth and their kid Apple, ([yes named after Apple's iPad)]  have been RESPONSIBLE enough to grow a Rain Forest in South America to “offset” their “footprint”….thank-you Jesus. No propaganda going on here.

Looking back, there was a moment — a brief, flickering instant that lasted several hours — when the People could do anything We wanted to do. Our moment had finally come! We were righteous, fired up, weren’t takin’ no more!

We were one thousand strong on Market Street, with the Bay Bridge shut down in rush hour traffic and the grounds around the state building swarming with angry mobs!

Our rallying cry was for justice; our demand was that the System be changed!

Yes, the Great Revolutionary Moment had at long last come. And the time, clearly, was ours!

So we stole stuff.

Y’know, stole stuff. Radios, tennis shoes. Well, not everybody, of course.

The vast majority (me included) just marched around and chanted slogans. But some set trash cans on fire. And smashed in car windows. And some kids stoned a few passing cars pretty good.

And stole stuff, like I said.

Now, I had always dreamed that I would revel in such a riot. But I didn’t. I got a safe ride home … and wept.

I cried because at that Moment — when some Great Revolutionary Leader was supposed to have emerged from the crowd, grabbed the megaphone,(emphasis mine) spoken to our hearts and hopes, set out our program to overthrow the old order and build a new one — nobody had anything to say.

Even though the entire judicial system had been exposed as a sham, and people of all classes and colors had taken to the streets in outrage, nobody was able to stand up and articulate a viable, opposing, social vision — or even offer a real plan to fix things.

Nobody, including me.

Van, Van, Van…..you were in San Fransisco, I was in Compton, with a shot gun, riding “shotgun” down Compton Blvd.  My father’s Liquor Store/Mini Mart was gutted, burned.  The day after the “riots” was queerly quiet.  A few small fires still burned along the streets, as we approached the business his parents built in 1930, the brick fortress clearly had huge black singe marks covering (now gone) window panes.  My dad saw a few scattered people lurking about, and as we turned into his parking lot, he said “Remember thats an automatic AK47, if you see someone point a gun at you think later, just shoot”…..it was the first and last time I ever saw my dad cry, Van.  Inside, an old alcoholic my dad had tried to help several times startled us.  ”Jesus Christ, I was gonna shoot you”, my dad said.  The old man had finally accepted “a job” from my dad, he was to “watch the store” and sweep the entrances….my dad let him live in a small office in the back.  (My dad tried to get him into AA, rehab, etc, but he just couldn’t stay sober for very long, my dad did not leave him around liquor unsupervised.)

Van, my dad was well loved in Compton.  His name was Joe Diserio, and all his employees were from Compton, and back in the 1980′s, Van, and he paid the main employees, May, who worked the front end, 700 a week.  Michael, who started as a teen, 7-800 a week or more when he became my dad’s second in charge.  Michael still credits my dad for his success in life, he says my dad “helped” him as a real father, and he works for AT&T in Texas.  He says he would have still been in the ghetto..I could go on Van, but I guess you won’t get it or care.  The Old Man sat down inside the gutted store, next to my dad, on old old crates.  They both were crying, the Old Man saying over and over “I sorry, Mr. Joe, I was suppose to watch the store….”  My dad put his arm around him and said, “This is not your fault, and I know no one from this neighborhood did this either, its not your fault…you did real good.”

Van, we don’t need a revolution, and as excited as you became that night, you were not in Watts.  From that first “adrenaline” rush you felt at what you perceived “”the moment, our moment, but no leader came forth with a bull horn”, to lead you and to change what? Change America into a Socialistic Society?  Your whole adult life since the Rodney King Riots has been a passion toward that end, the “Manifesto” which I read to find out why, never said why, only that we must have a Revolution here, and that “it” is coming.

Lately, you speak of “turn the whole system inside out and bottom-top” or whatever your sick Alinsky infiltration crap brainwashed mind spouts…..there are good and bad people, in all societies.  We know, Van, from history what we have here in the form of Government, and YES Capitalism, too, are by far the best—– and most successful way to ensure our God given Rights.  So grow up, Van, and the adrenaline rush from that Riot long ago, was just that, an adrenaline rush, not a sign from God that you have some special Mission.

What is darn right scary is the economic policies this Administration has implemented is driving us to the edge of that cliff, and you Van are sooo excited to see people whipped up.   You an avowed Communist in all your writings, are now trying to whip up the nation and using the Teachers, Police and Firefighters, I saw you with the “megaphone” this week.   Your mind and others within and around the President are leading us to destruction far worse than any Rodney King Riots.  Wake Up, America!!  Who’s holding that megaphone? And what do they really want from you?
